Winner of Ironman Barcelona switches to hep Sports Team
With immediate effect, Laura Philipp will be wearing the characteristic green of the hep Sports Teams when competing.
32-year old Laura Philipp has been active in triathlon since 2011 and started her pro career in 2015. 2018, she established the German record for a first-time starter on Ironman-distance with 8:34:57h. This record made her second fastest on the high-score list of German female triathletes on Ironman-distance. Also, she holds eleventh place on the worldwide list of fastest female triathletes.
For the first time in October 2019, the exceptional athlete took part in the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii, delivered the fastest bike split and achieved a phenomal fourth place. A turning point for Laura Philipp: "With the achievement in this competition, I am kicking off the next step in my triathlon career. With the hep Sports Team, I want to reach the peak of my potential!"
hep Sports Team: Philipp has been part of the hep Sports Team for a year, and now has decided to completely switch to the "green team". Due to the large amount of time she spends in nature when training, Philipp enjoys the message behind hep's slogan "there is no planet b.". Being a vegetarian for many years, she tries to contribute her part to saving natural ressources.
hep pursues a holistic approach in developing and leading the sports team: In addition to a financial support, junior athletes are mentored on an athletic and soft skill level.
„To us, triathlon is a matter of the heart", adds CEO Christian Hamann. „We admire these perservering, versatile and exceptional athletes. Following Laura's fourth place in Kona, we are looking forward to supporting her in her future endeavours as well."
