hep fund for private investors invests in the United States
hep's current Alternative Investment Fund for private investors now invests in two solar projects in North and South Carolina. The construction of solar project "White Street" with a capacity of 4.4 megawatts in North Carolina is already in progress - and expected to be finalized by mid-2020. A tracking system is used to guarantee optimal tracking of daily sunlight through the solar modules.
A power purchase agreement was reached with listed energy provider Duke Energy located in Charlotte, North Carolina. For a duration of 15 years, „White Street“ will be reimbursed with USD 0.061 per KWh.
Currently, the United States are the second largest solar market worldwide. Due to energy policy being decided on state level, many states show high growth rates in renewable energy projects. Since 2016, over 10 gigawatts of solar energy are being added each year. Analysts from the US-American research company Bloomberg predict that 43 % of the US energy demand will be covered by solar and wind energy in 2050.
hep maintains an office in Portland, Maine, and just recently announced a strategic partnership with US-american project developer ReNew Petra. Together, the joint venture plans to develop more than 100 megawatts of distributed solar annually.
