From asset specialist to global solar company
Güglingen, March 13, 2023 – Heiko Szczodrowski, formerly Global Head of Product Management Institutional Clients at Commerz Real, took over the position of CEO at HEP Kapitalverwaltung AG, the Baden-Württemberg specialist in solar parks and solar investments, effective March 1. Szczodrowski comes with many years of experience in the management of asset investments for both institutional investors and retail clients.
About Heiko Szczodrowski
Szczodrowski had worked in the Commerzbank group for more than 26 years. As head of corporate development, he had made a significant contribution to the restructuring of Commerz Real following the financial market crisis. During his time at Commerz Real his responsibilities included building the institutional business up again as well as launching and establishing the first open-ended impact retail fund for assets and the portfolio of closed-end investment funds. Alongside earlier impetus in the area of sustainability, he posted several successes in the field of digitalization, such as the development of a customer portal and the first digital advisory route. He is now taking over the helm of the capital management arm of HEP Kapitalverwaltung AG.
A personal contribution to the energy transition
“With hep I am even closer to the sector of the future, solar energy, and can personally make my own key contribution to driving the energy transition,” says Szczodrowski. “We are delighted to have found an expert with this many years of experience and look forward to working with him. With his expertise, we will be able to develop further innovative investment solutions,” explains Christian Hamann, founder and CEO of hep global. Szczodrowski thus takes over the position previously held by co-founder and CSO of hep Thorsten Eitle. “I too am delighted to welcome Heiko to the board of the capital management company. With his financial market expertise, hep will be able to implement its growth course even more consistently in the future,” Eitle elaborates. He will continue to serve on the board of the capital management company, but will focus more on sales in the future.
