Güglingen, January 17, 2023 – hep has joined forces with Zwift, the provider of real training in virtual worlds for the hep Sports Team, to open up new possibilities in the online training environment. In 2020 the hep Sports Team successfully completed a short training program with online fitness provider Freelatics. Now the online sports community also has the opportunity to measure themselves against the world and hep Sports Team athletes such as Laura Philipp, Sebastian Kienle and reigning Ironman world champion, Gustav Iden, in the comfort of their own homes. Sports enthusiasts can now compete against the hep Sports Team and the best triathletes in the world in a short series of hep Global Social Rides and hep Global Special Guest Races on Zwift.
Digital meets analog
hep enables you to ride live virtual bike races with the athletes of our hep Sports Team. The first four races are sure to offer plenty of fun and excitement – and all with an impact in the real world. Zwift is great not just because you ride through a virtual landscape with realistic inclines: when a steep incline can be seen on the screen, the resistance also increases. The best thing about Zwift is probably that sports enthusiasts can ride against thousands of others and also against our elite athletes.
hep meets Zwift
Our top athletes will offer many different rides in a dedicated hep Sports Team Zwift Club. Furthermore regulary rides are offered:
- Training rides every Tuesday from 8pm CET in the period from January 17th to February 7th
- Pursuit races every Thursday from 8pm CET in the period from January 19th to February 9th
A short warm-up will be followed by a 30-45 minute pursuit race in which the hep athletes start at the back, while the amateur athletes have to race as a team.

Holistic approach of the hep Sports Team
hep takes a holistic approach to the establishment and management of the Sports Team: Alongside the financial sponsorship, it focuses on developing sporting and human skills. “The triathlon is something close to our hearts,” explains CEO and founder Christian Hamann. “We marvel at the endurance, versatility and successes of the athletes and want to promote the sport not only in Germany but also internationally.”
